St. Cloud Window is excited to be featured on Office Spaces, a Fox Business program that displays well-designed offices and business places. The episode, which airs on Sunday, March 25, focuses on the construction of a new hotel in Alexandria, VA.
When St. Cloud Window was asked to provide windows for a new hotel along a busy Metro rail line in Alexandria, it was clear that noise mitigation would be a major aspect of the project. In order to block the continuous noise of the rail traffic and a nearby freeway, St. Cloud Window utilized high-performing acoustic windows on the side nearest the rail line.
Because the rail line is un-lubricated, there is more friction between the wheel and the rail – creating additional noise. Therefore, it was essential to focus on window acoustics in order to create a quiet, serene space for hotel guests to sleep, work and relax.
To do this, St. Cloud Window provided STC56 fixed windows along the side of the building nearest the rail line and freeway. The lower acoustic version of the windows was used on the opposite side of the building, which provides additional cost-effectiveness while maintaining a uniform appearance.
The result was a quiet, peaceful environment, as was made clear by customer testimonials. “This was probably one of the most quiet hotels I have been in,” said one. “We were on the 12th floor with the Metro behind us and I never heard it,” said another.
St. Cloud Window is proud to provide the latest in acoustic windows, reducing noise without sacrificing appearance or performance. Check out our full line of acoustic window products, and get in touch to learn more about any of our high-performing window products.
