Our Lady of the Lake Main Building Replicates Historic Windows

After two and a half years of reconstruction, Our Lady of the Lake University’s Main building is complete. The reconstruction effort began the morning after the building caught fire on May 6, 2008. The Board of Trustees guided the OLLU campus community through a process of envisioning what the main building should be to serve its students well into the future.

According to OLLU President Tessa Martinez Pollack, “Destructive as the fire was, it was an awakening to us and to our city about how valued Our Lady of the Lake University is educationally, historically, and architecturally.” Pollack further states, “The current Main Building will feature more technology and increased social spaces within the context of a modern building that reflects its historic features.”

Utilizing the SCW964 Historic series windows with a custom triple color painted finish, St. Cloud Window Inc. worked closely in conjunction with Flume Building Specialties and Kell-Muñoz Architects in the reconstruction effort. The final product carefully replicated the essential historic features of the building while maximizing the high-performance values of modern window products.
