American Architectural Manufacturers Association (AAMA)/Aluminum Material Council released this white paper covering the use of aluminum extrusions in entrances, storefront framing, curtain wall, window, and skylight fenestrations in high-performing buildings.
The aluminum extrusions used in fenestration systems play a major role in making enclosures more energy-efficient and resilient. The white papers provide detailed information about the energy advantages of using aluminum fenestration:
- Sustainability, stating that the recyclability of aluminum benefits both present and future generations by conserving energy and other natural resources, and
- Energy and cost reinvestment, noting the production of primary aluminum can be reinvested into other recycled-aluminum products.
White paper downloads may be available at no cost from the American Architectural Manufacturers Association (AAMA) online store.
