When customers have questions about how to care for their windows, doors, or skylights, AAMA is dedicated to providing helpful answers. The six-panel, fold-out brochure is intended to help homeowners, building owners, property managers, and all who are responsible for maintaining and cleaning windows, doors, and skylights. With the re-issued hard copy resource, AAMA has also launched a new web page with information from the brochure, which can be viewed at https://fgiaonline.org/news/aama-offers-brochure-on-caring-for-your-windows-doors-and-skylights.
“Regardless of framing material, operator type or size, all of these products must be cared for properly to increase their service life, performance, and operation,” Angela Dickson, AAMA’s marketing and communications director. “From cleaning glass to caring for frames and more, consumers will better understand how to properly maintain their fenestration products. This brochure has been revised and re-issued with helpful tips for how to do exactly that.”
“Some states require that manufacturers provide written care and maintenance instructions. ‘Caring for Your Windows, Doors and Skylights’ may assist with this compliance, and ultimately, in promoting better-informed customers,” Rich Walker, AAMA president and CEO adds, “The brochure communicates industry-wide practices without being brand specific. This neutral, third-party approach removes the potential, negative connotation that could be incorrectly made about an individual manufacturer who shares similar information under their own company name.”
Manufacturers, installers, and builders may utilize this brochure as a handout for customers. A digital sample of the brochure can be viewed and printed copies may be ordered from the online store. More information about FGIA and its activities can be found on the FGIA website.
