Olivier Barn – Tippet Rise Arts Centre
Project Location: Fishtail, MT
The Olivier Music Barn was designed backward from the usual design evolution of a concert hall. Most architects feel the visual elements should take priority, but for Olivier Music Barn sound was put first.
“You can always decorate a building after the sound is in place. But you can’t compensate for acoustic mistakes in the architecture,”
per Peter Halstead and Alban Bassuet.
The ultra-acoustic control room windows provide the interior sound barriers, permitting the production technicians to work and interact without interfering with the onstage performance.
