SCW Model Series: SCW2500
Listed on the National Register of Historic Places and part of Gateway National Recreation Area, the hangar’s rehabilitation needed to meet the strict standards established by the U.S. Secretary of Interior.
The SCW2500 Series “F-Anchor” installation maintained the window sightlines as detailed and required to meet the Historic Guidelines.
Built in 1942, hangar’s facade was austere, with no architectural embellishments. At 250 x 400 feet, it was designed to house Navy flying boats.
