Floyd Bennett Field Hangar B
Project Location: Brooklyn, NY
Built in 1942, the hangar’s facade was austere, with no architectural embellishments. At 250 x 400 feet, it was designed to house Navy flying boats.
Listed on the National Register of Historic Places and part of Gateway National Recreation Area, the hangar’s rehabilitation needed to meet the strict standards established by the U.S. Secretary of Interior.
Historic SCW2500 Series windows with “F-Anchor” installation were selected to maintain the window sightlines as detailed, and required, to meet the historic guidelines.
