St. Cloud Window Secures Historic John Marshall Hotel Contract

St. Cloud Window Inc. is proud to announce the contract of the historic John Marshall Hotel in Richmond, Virginia. St. Cloud Window will be manufacturing 1110 windows for the $ 66 million renovation project. The project will utilize 1023 of St. Cloud Window’s new 5000 Series windows and 87 of the company’s 2500 series product line. St. Cloud Window will be joining developer Dominion Realty Partners, general contractor Choate Construction Company, glazing contractor Roxbury Glass, and architectural firm RJT+R as partners in the restoration of this landmark property.
When complete, the building will be known as the Residences at the John Marshall and will convert the historic hotel into 238 luxury apartments with 20,000 square feet of street retail on the ground level. The hotel’s historic Virginia and John Marshall ballrooms will be restored for event use. The Residences at the John Marshall will be downtown Richmond’s first historic high-rise hotel building to be converted into a green-friendly, energy-efficient apartment building.
Designed by Marcellus Wright in 1927, the building originally opened its doors in October 1929. The architectural detailing is unique for its blend of Art Deco and classical design elements. Named after the longest-serving Chief Justice of the Supreme Court, the hotel is famous for the many celebrity guests who visited including Elvis Presley, Mary Tyler Moore, Elizabeth Taylor, and Presidents Carter, Ford, and Nixon.
